Math Beat!...
a Math Mystery
Detective Numero makes a dramatic entrance to explain that Math has "oozed" out of the math books and is spreading
EVERYWHERE.
  • Adding, subtracting and dividing in the pizza parlor
  • Parallel lines, shapes and symmetry in the orchestra instruments
  • Horrors!  Math has been detected in YOUR school!
Our Mission:
To track down escaped math concepts and put them
back in the math book where they belong! Outcome:
We discover this is a "Mission Impossible."
We decide math books are not where you "keep" math,
but guidebooks that show uswhat clues to look for so
we can find math
everywhere!
This interdisciplinary program combines math theory with language usage, movement, and lots of interaction. With the contract you will receive a teacher preview packet with a program outline and follow up classroom activities.

 

Program requirements:

  • One table and access to electricity
  • Open space for children to sit on the floor (one segment of the performance uses a parachute)
  • One copy of your school math text
  • Students who need a "math excitement" boost
  • Staff who will take that excitement and use it throughout the the day

Teacher packet with follow up activities provided with contract

 
Notes:
  • Highly Contagious Assemblies are grade specific,they work best in grade specific groups
  • Programs are 45 minutes in length, up to 4 programs at your school in one day.
  • Help me book another school in your district and receive a credit!
