Catch the Wave explores sound wave theory visually and kinesthetically for your elementary/middle school students.

How? ...with water balloons, slinkies,space phones
and whoopee cushions of course!


Lots of interaction and fun with an average of 20 volunteers during the program.
(Everyone gets into the act kinesthetically one way or another!)

Catch the Wave requirements:

  • One table and access to electricity
  • Open space for children to sit on the floor
  • Students needing a "science excitement" boost
  • Staff who will take that excitement and use it throughout the rest of the day!

  • Programs are 45 minutes in length, up to
    4 programs at your school in one day.

        • After learning about sound, we use a guitar, slide whistle, drums, marimba and rain stick to explore how instruments make music and why they are designed the way they are.

Adaptable for preschoolers through adults. Teachers packet provided with program outline and follow up classroom activities.
