Math in History!

People throughout history have used math to solve problems and make their lives easier. We’ll use catapults, marshmallows and lasers to discover that the Kings and Queens of the Renaissance, like the Egyptians and Greeks, used math to figure things out! !

Program requirements:

  • One table and access to electricity
  • Open space for children to sit on the floor
  • Students who need a "math excitement" boost
  • Staff who will take that excitement and use it throughout the rest of the day

Note:

  • Because Highly Contagious Assemblies are so grade specific, they work best in grade specific groups (i.e. combine 1 and 2, 2 and 3, 4 and 5 grades)
  • Programs are 45 minutes in length, up to 4 programs at your school in one day.
  • Help me book another school in your district and receive a discount!
  • Apply to receive a grant from the Michigan Humanities Council
(shhhhh, for some reason they've decided I'm an artist!)
